I would not recommend this book for anyone that wants to learn how to read blueprints due to all the errors, your better off surfing the net for information. I got this book because it was required text book at a college. I already know how to read blueprint since I worked as a drafter to draw 1000's of components over my 8 years working in the field and required this class to get a degree, so this class should have been fairly easy. There is so many problem with this book to cover everything that is wrong with it. This book has content coverage issue and errors for:
1. Content is so badly written it is so hard to understand. Doing the question and answer at the end of each unit a shot in the dark if the reader understood the question correctly. When we ask our professor for help when the class couldn't understand he would give us an answer and check with the teachers book and got the answer wrong also. Afterward he confirm with the book before answering. Bad instructor, I don't believe so since his field of study was in architectural and that information isn't using in his field.
2. It didn't feel like the authors of this book know anything about blueprint and simply copy and paste general real life experience. When I came to parts of the book where I had experience in the field as ask to confirm my answer to the teacher edition since I couldn't find the answer in the unit. I was told that my answer base real life experience on the field was wrong.
3. I strongly believe as a student this book is teaching wrong information more then a book should if it was better researched to proof that the content was correct. The reason I believe this was because when our class went to units that covered our field of study machining and welding.
