This book starts out with this caution:
"The DEWALT Electrical Code Reference is not a formal code interpretation and is not intended to replace the code. You will need a copy of the 2008 and 2011 NFPA 70 National Electrcial Code (NEC) to check all references given in this book."
The book goes on to say that this book is designed to help the reader to understand some but not all of the phases of electrical installations. It also points out that there might be other ways of doing the jobs outlined in the book as well as local codes which must be considered alongside what is shown in this book and National Code.
Having said that, I will say that this book is well laid out, with illustrations and outlines done very well. Some knowledge of electrical installation is necessary to use this book- if you know nothing or very little, it may not be for you.
