About the Author
Carol D. Goodheart, EdD, is a scholar-practitioner in independent practice in Princeton, New Jersey, specializing in the treatment of people with physical diseases or disabilities. Her career integrates practice, scholarship, and service to psychology. She received the 2012 American Psychological Foundation Gold Medal Award for Life Achievement in the Practice of Psychology, and is an author and editor of seven previous books. Dr. Goodheart was the 2010 president of the American Psychological Association.
