Once upon a time, a historical romance author created a family....
But not just any family. Eight brothers and sisters, assorted in-laws, sons and daughters, nieces and nephews (not to mention an overweight corgi), plus an irrepressible matriarch who's a match for any of them.... These are the Bridgertons: less a family than a force of nature. Through eight best-selling novels, listeners laughed, cried, and fell in love. But they wanted more.
And so the listeners asked the author...
What happens next? Does Simon ever read his father's letters? Do Francesca and Michael become parents? Who would win in a Pall Mall grudge match?
Does "The End" really have to be the end?
Now, with The Bridgertons: Happily Ever After, Julia Quinn delivers eight sexy, funny, and heartwarming "2nd Epilogues" plus a bonus story about none other than the wise and witty matriarch Violet Bridgerton herself. So get to know the Bridgertons all over again - because Happily Ever After is a whole lot of fun.

Anthony, Benedict, Colin, Daphne, Eloise, Francesca, Gregory, Hyacinth... and, of course, the matriarch of this lovely bunch, Violet. Also known as the Bridgertons. When I first met this group, starting with Daphne in The Duke and I, it was love at first page. That week I devoured the first four books in a row. Then, when I realized there were only eight Bridgertons and thus only eight books in this series, I slowed my pace down. Savored them.
Because Julia Quinn writes fantastic romances and this series is an excellent example of her sweet, fun, and, often, sarcastic style that's infused with so many emotions that she never fails to tug on my heart strings. Simon and his stutter. Anthony and his fear of bees. Sophie and her cruel stepmother. She creates characters you can't help but love.
If you haven't yet met the Bridgertons, I highly recommend you do... and before you read this book, as this is their after the happily ever after. Their second epilogues.
The Duke and I. Takes places twenty years after. Oh, Simon. Always, always loved him--even when he was trying his best to not let anyone, especially Daphne, love him. In Daphne and Simon's second epilogue, we get to see what would cause Simon to actually open the letters from his father. And Simon and Daphne get a huge surprise that surprised me too.
The Viscount Who Loved Me. Takes place fifteen years after. Anthony and Kate make bickering an art form. And, for them, it's also an odd sort of foreplay. Time definitely hasn't changed that. Watching them try to outwit and outmaneuver each other during their annual Pall Mall game was hilarious. Especially when they get a little bit dirty.
An Offer From a Gentleman. Takes place three years after.
The Bridgertons: Happily Ever After is a collection of epilogues answering questions that readers must have been plaguing Julia Quinn with.
If you haven't already read ALL of the Bridgerton books then don't bother getting this, go back and start at the beginning because otherwise you will be hopelessly lost. If you have read all the Bridgerton books then this is a sweet and mostly satisfying compilation of shorts that will remind you why you fell in love with the characters in the first place and give you some closure on some things that you always wondered about.
The first being whether or not Simon, Daphne's husband, ever read the letters that his father left for him. Ms. Quinn's first epilogue deals with what circumstances might make Simon WANT to read those letters - and my only complaint about this story is that now I'm dying to find out what's wrong with Georgie (if anything is at all) and I was hoping that the answer to THAT would come about in one of the later epilogues and it never did. Does that mean we're going to get a second generation of Bridgerton books? I hope so because I'm dying to know about him, as well as how Daphne and Simon deal with having an unexpected bundle of joy thrown into their later years.
The second epilogue didn't answer questions so much as it gave us a glimpse into Anthony and Kate's marriage and their unrelenting competitiveness when it comes to Pall Mall. Short, sweet and extremely humorous.
The third epilogue deals with Posy, Sophie's step-sister (the nice one). This was a little too short and sweet. I admittedly had always hoped that Posy would get her own book.
