But a soggy murder case might have Betsy in over her head…
Even though running Crewel World keeps Betsy plenty busy, a little extra cash on the side doesn’t hurt. So when the local senior complex, Watered Silk, asks her to teach a class on the tricky punch needle technique, Betsy jumps at the opportunity to win over some new customers.
Unfortunately, the business that Betsy drums up is not of the needlework variety. A young woman is found floating in Watered Silk’s therapy pool, and Betsy’s sleuthing skills are immediately called upon to figure out who drowned her. But the list of suspects is more twisted than any Betsy has encountered before. The young woman had three lovers—each with a motive for the murder.
It’s up to Betsy to sort out the snarl of romantic entanglements and find a killer, or the wrong man is bound to get pinned for a crime he didn’t commit…

This series is great if you like a good mystery, a good murder and like to embroider altho you could still enjoy the book even if you don't embroider. i can identify with Besty the shop owner, know the area where she has her shop and i do embroider so i enjoy the patterns at the end of the book. As usual Betsy helps out a friend to find out who the real murderer is, while teaching a class at a senior housing complex. She is a believable friend the kind you want to have yourself.and you just sort of identify with her. The plot is good and will have you guessing until the end. So if you like mysteries that keep you thinking who did it this book is great.

Reading this 17th installment of the Betsy Devonshire needlecraft store series set in Minnesota reminds me of why I liked this series so much for so longer (after a few in the series that were just ok for me). A solid cozy with some likeable characters.
In this one, Betsy's water aerobics class pool is closed for a few months so she decides to go to a pool at a senior living location. She is also quickly hired to teach a craft class at the senior housing center. Soon thereafter, the lifeless body of a young woman is found in the pool.
I hate when the main sleuth in a long-running cozy series wanders too far afield for too long. Yet I also get bored if every installment is set in the main location (think Cabot Cove). Ferris' compromise in this one--murder nearby but not necessarily in the usual places--is a good one.
I feel rejuvenated in this series again. Enjoyed it.
