Hey everyone, here's my review on the AP US Government and Politics Crash Course. Overall, the book is organized well and written clearly while getting through the essential points. Now let me explain my study habits prior to taking the actual AP Gov Exam. I hate to say it but I did not take any notes at all during classtime, I slept; I pretty much crammed the day before on each unit exam and quiz throughout the school curriculum. Doing this, I average around a B on my unit exams. FYI, our school used the Wilson and Dilulio 12th Edition Book. If you're wondering how I averaged a B on my unit tests, I crammed each day before using Course-Notes(I DID NOT USE THE CRASH COURSE BOOK BECAUSE I DID NOT HAVE IT, I ONLY USE THIS BOOK FOR THE FINAL AND THE AP EXAM). The course-notes website offers outlines and study guides for the 11th edition of the book but I found it to be pretty much the same as the 12th and very useful for getting a thorough cram. The reason for not participating in the class was I just found the topic to be not necessarily boring, but the way this subject specifically is taught is very unengaging and quite boring to be honest.(Might just be because of my short attention span or my teacher because my AP Econ teacher was engaging and very exciting) Okay so you probably already saw the title saying that I got a 4 on the AP Gov exam and yes, it's true. The week before the AP exam, I took the final from my AP class and scored a 4(coincidence?). I crammed all of this book inside my lazy brain and was able to recall the hell out of it during the final. It came like butter. I also did this again a week later for the AP Exam and come July 4, 2013, I see 4 on my college website for AP Government and Politics, BAM.
