I'm very forgiving when it comes to comics, especially the New 52s. But what the hell is this? I could barely follow what was going on half the time. There were too many small insignificant stories within this volume, so by the time you understand the plot, its already over and they've moved onto another story. You have the first story where Oliver makes the spontaneous decision to just leave for Canada to fight a polar bear man, and the consequences of these events are taken rather lightly throughout the rest of the volume. Then while ignoring the state of queen industries, Oliver befriends a suicidal robot, and in the end, I'm not sure what the point of the story was. And finally once we get back to the turmoil of Queen Industries, We're presented with some political and economical preaches. These stories weren't bad themselves, but they they all ended so abruptly. There isn't a lot of time to understand them, let alone appreciate them. For the sake of fairness, there are elements of the New 52 that I really like, even this one. They don't go into a lot of depth on those elements, though, making them useless. Part of the problem seems to be a complete change of writers, who don't take this series seriously. Green Arrow fans need a team of writers who care about what Oliver does every week.

I thought the first trade paperback was bad, so the second should be an improvement right? Boy, was I was wrong. This is so much worse.
The plot is ridiculous and hard to follow or even care about. The scenes are loosely held together with badly scribbled art and abrupt endings. Green Arrow is a lot of things, but he isn't an idiot. I rolled my eyes so many times at Green Arrow's actions. Most of what he does is just down right stupid.
As a fan of Green Arrow I'm really disappointed in the new series as a whole. The new 52 Green Arrow has no personality. His charm, wit and snark are completely gone. There is nothing here to distinguish him from a million other bland comic book heroes.
I gave the first and second trade paperbacks a fair shot. I cannot recommend the new series to anyone.
