As the owner of two Labradoodles, I picked up this item to see what information on these wonderful poodle crosses is being disseminated. I was pleasantly surprised at the professionalism, usefulness and ease of this guide--one that goes a long way in dispelling myths about these breeds and highlighting their many strong points while guiding us through their care.
From the initial stages of choosing a puppy--including a list of important questions for a candidate breeder--through the first days of a puppy's home life, its active adulthood and more sedentary senior days, this book comprehensively addresses the care, training, medical needs, grooming and best activities specific to the breed. Unlike many other dog breed books out there, this one addresses the unique traits of the breed and tailors all facets of dog ownership to make their and your lives better as pet and pet owner alike. I particularly liked the sections on puppies and children, medical needs through their life-cycles, and great activities to pursue together with your pet.
Finally, the photography is superb. The many pictures highlight the beauty of this breed, their gentleness, playfulness and wide range of interests. I HIGHLY recommend this to anyone owning, or considering the ownership of a goldendoodle or labradoodle.

Before I adopted my Goldendoodle three years ago, I did some online Doodle research and found an ebook by the author, Edie MacKensie. It was the most informative material I had read on the breed. I had some questions and so I wrote to her. To my surprise and eternal gratefullness, she answered all of my questions and helped me find the most wonderful breeder who led me to Bingo, my Goldendoodle dream come true.
When I saw that she wrote a paperback I purchased it immediately. Edie has such an amazing insight into the breed. The book was extremely informative on all levels, from puppyhood on. The pictures are the best I've ever seen of the breed, or any breed for that matter. I found out that my Bingo has many traits typical of the breed such as bringing me a bone when I come home or what I just learned is called table surfing, when Bingo finds things on tables he shouldn't and plays keep away!
Overall, this is a great book that I would recommend to anyone either considering owning a Goldendoodle, or to someone who already has the pleasure and wants to enjoy a good read as well as learn some new insight about your dogs traits.
